Our values
Animal welfare and rider monitoring!
VALUES
In a sport that demands total fusion and trust between animal and human, we are convinced that the well-being of both is the key to sporting success.
RESPECT
Respect for every animal
Our team of seasoned professionals understands and respects the identity, skills and needs of each horse.
To optimize the strengths of a line and the DNA qualities of these top athletes, we set up a customized training program, adapted to the morphology, strengths and weaknesses and daily life of each animal.
A horse will never be forced, stressed, pressurized or pressured to reach dangerous limits.
Enhanced monitoring and safety
Our horses also benefit from constant medical follow-up, with vets, osteopaths and farriers, all specialists in equine needs and the demands of top-level sport.
They are trained and pampered on a daily basis in vast paddocks, training arenas and open-air meadows in the unspoilt Auvergne countryside. The right balance between work and rest, which contributes to their full health. Refusing to set unattainable goals, our team takes the time to gently guide them through their morphological, psychological and sporting maturity, step by step. Gentle methods, developed by 3 professional riders and a veterinarian, to bring them up to the highest level of European show jumping.
HEALTH
Health and nutrition
Our horses are fed mainly with forage and pellets from trusted local suppliers. In our stable, priority is given to preventive phytosanitary treatments and natural care methods, in collaboration with specialized laboratories.
We pay particular attention to the quality and comfort of our infrastructures, paddocks, boxes and grounds, to preserve the health of our animals. We’ve also forged strong partnerships to offer horses and riders the best-performing, safest equipment possible.
Accompanying the rider
As we all know, a career in top-level sport demands a total commitment that is often testing for riders. Écurie des Charmettes benefits from the advice of a nutritionist and spa doctor with over 20 years’ experience in the equestrian world.
We are therefore currently working on a program to support show jumping riders, to promote their well-being, preserve their health and enhance their physical and mental preparation. The program will focus on 3 key areas: nutrition, general medical care and the benefits of spa treatments, at the heart of the facilities of the Reine des Villes d’Eaux – Vichy.
